About Us

RattleSnake 4x4s is different than you might think, we’re about people and the experiences we share!

Having been in clubs both abroad and locally, we saw a need for a club with more flexibility.

Let’s face it everybody is so busy these days, nobody has time for mandatory meetings or runs, and clubs of all kinds are dying trying to keep the members they have, let alone recruit new members.

So we created a club with less stringent rules in January of 2016, and have maintained a steady base of families since. We open many of our runs to anyone wanting to  join in our adventures too.

Flexibility & Trust = Good Times

It’s Simple

  • No Mandatory Runs Or Meetings
  • Pay Your Dues
  • Join In As You Please
  • Have Fun & Don’t Cause Us Grief
  • Life Is Good!

We have a great bunch of members who work well together, to make sure everybody has a good time.

We’re an all 4×4 club (you gotta have a transfer case), open to all brands. We are essentially a 21 and over club, but have provisions for younger wheelers (18+ with some caveats). We have a range of differing driving levels and builds but have taken a majority of the club through some pretty interesting terrain, with very few problems.

We camp during many trips, sometimes it’s a base camp, other times it’s an overland adventure, where we’ll camp on the trail as we travel. We’ve completed the Washington Back Roads Discovery Route (BDR), offering up nearly 600 miles of scenic wonder between Oregon and Canada driving along the Cascades with very little pavement.

We love being out running trails, perhaps some might think we’re gearheads out tearing up the forest, when quite the opposite is the case. We’re making memories and making it easier for others (maybe you) to enjoy the beautiful places they might not otherwise be able to see.

We try to include all driver levels in the community from those who are just starting out and want to just drive the backroads, forest service roads or hunt ghost towns and go overlanding to those who want edge of your seat rock crawling.

Giving Back To Our Community

Since our inception, we have believed in helping our community both locally and abroad. We are excited about our ‘sport/hobby’ and hope to see it continue for generations.

We Give Back By Sharing Knowledge;

  • Helping new members learn about their vehicles.
  • Teaching about recovery gear and it’s use.
  • Teaching Trail Etiquette and Tread Lightly Principles.
  • Helping build members rigs for their desired type of off-roading.
  • Leading trail runs across different terrains (dirt, sand, mud & snow).

We Give Back By Our Actions;

  • Providing local hospital workers rides to work in winter.
  • Clearing trails side to side for all to enjoy as well as for wildland fire safety.
  • We are always ready to help others on the trails.
  • Being a Premium Club Member of the Blue Ribbon Coalition to help keep our trails open.
  • Being a Club Member of Tread Lightly
  • Assisting with Traffic Control for the Cool Desert Nights Car Show.
  • Assisting with Traffic Control for IronMan Triathalon.
  • Participating in clean-ups (trash pick-ups) locally and while on the trail.
  • Creating Show & Cruises and Christmas Light Runs.
  • Creating and running crazy Spring/Fall Rallies that fund raise for charity.

Fund Raising

Over the years we have raised funds for various charities that are primarily US Military Veteran and/or First Responder based.

Recently we partnered with the local non profit Friends of Disabled Veterans in Prosser, WA. We chose them because they are creating a local facility that will cater to not only Disabled Veterans, but all Veterans and their families, as well as local First Responders and their families, a win-win in our book.

We accept donations on their behalf directly through our online Member Store. If you would like to donate to them, and we hope you will, you can do so here.

Whatever your off road dream might be, we probably have you covered, so check us out at a monthly meeting or come along on one of the many runs or events we put on.  We might be a good match for you.

But you’ll never know until you check us out!

Building Memories

Having fun with good friends wheelin’ trumps staying home alone everytime. Helping our community when needed is another bonus!

No Distance Is too Far

Every year we try and schedule a long distance trip, over multiple days to check out some epic trails around the country.

We know how to have fun

Tread Lightly

Staying on the trail, keeps our trails open. Venturing off the trail, causes our limited trails to be closed.

Leave It Clean

We’re strong believers in cleaning up after ourself, but often find others haven’t. Pack out what you pack in.

Epic journeys

Every trip has a story, some good some not. But to be part of the story you have got to take the trip..

Get Off The Couch, Let’s Roll

Getting out into God’s creation is a blessing that will make your life and those of your family more fun and exciting.
